Who they are

Kohti Tuhoa are a hardcore punk band from Helsinki, Finland. The notes for the Väkivaltaa EP call the group a Helsinki four-piece. The notes for the 2019 album name the vocalist as Helena. The album pages list no other members by name. The name is Finnish and reads as “towards destruction” in English. Bandcamp tags include d-beat and suomi punk. Early press notes compare the band to Framtid and to Sacrilege in the Behind the Realms of Madness era.

Discography

The documented run starts with a self-titled EP. It first appeared as a seven-inch, and those pressings sold out long ago. La Vida Es Un Mus reissued the session on December 16, 2020. The label cut it at 45rpm on a twelve-inch, remastered from the original analog tapes. The bonus track Velkaa Maksat Kuitenkin had been left off the original pressing. The session ran long for a seven-inch. Seven tracks appear on the reissue. The black vinyl edition of that pressing now shows sold out.

Ihmisen Kasvot, listed as MUS198, came out on September 15, 2019. The notes describe a twelve-track LP about an overpopulated world worn down by self-centered behavior. Reference points include Killing Joke style tom-tom beats and fast hardcore. Recording took place at VR Studio in Turku, with Jack Control mastering.

Elä Totuudesta followed on May 15, 2020 as a five-track EP. The band recorded and mixed it, with Jack Control handling the master. The notes list themes of personal struggle and gender equality, including problems inside the punk scene.

Väkivaltaa arrived October 1, 2021. Side A draws on early Spiderleg Records EPs, per the notes. Side B carries three tracks of pogo-beat hardcore. The same notes name Disorder and the Colombian band Muro as points of comparison.

Label

The Ihmisen Kasvot notes state the band had two albums and an EP on Southern Lord and Svart Records. La Vida Es Un Mus came next. The Southern Lord band page lists Rutiinin Orja and Pelon neljäs valtakunta under the group’s name. Svart is a label based in Finland. La Vida Es Un Mus Discos operates out of London and uses the tagline “Primative Musik”. The label grid also holds Home Front, The Chisel and Ripcord.

Paratiisi is the fourth album. It carries the catalog number MUS347 and sits in preorder now. The release date is October 23, 2026. Ten tracks are listed. Who they are

Oddfellows are a punk band from Denton, Texas. The first lineup played its opening show in December 1994. That version held Chris Pulliam, Mark Ryan and Mike Throneberry. The run stayed mostly local and ended within a few years. The members then spread across a long list of Texas punk bands. Ryan went on to the Marked Men, Mind Spiders, High Tension Wires and O-D-EX. Pulliam and Throneberry played in The Reds. The album notes state the members went on to spawn a hundred bands. The band page tags the sound as pop punk, garage, rock & roll and Texas.

Discography

The 1990s lineup left no album. The discography starts thirty years later. Oddfellows reformed in December 2024. The group wrote a new record in three months. Who they are

”…Or Does it Explode?” is a four-piece band from Madison, Wisconsin. Show listings describe the group as formed around 2019. The official bio lists Shawn Bass and Brandon Boggess on guitars, J Granberg on bass and Erik Rasmuson on drums. Bass sings and handles sound samples, video projection and occasional synth parts. The name comes from the final line of the Langston Hughes poem “Harlem”. A name-origins page credits a chapter title in Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States” for the introduction. The Bandcamp pages carry the tags emo, midwest emo, post-hardcore and post-rock. Idioteq’s feature describes five years in the local scene, with angular riffs and introspective melodies.

Consensus Madness is a punk band from Chicago. The Endeavors album page carries a chicago tag alongside kbd, punk and proto-punk. The Iron Lung Records press text calls the members Chicagoans and friends of the label. It describes the vocals as sung in provincial Midwest accents. Member names do not appear on the album page or the label grid. The lineup stays undocumented in public listings.

Discography

The catalogue holds two full-length records on the same label. The self-titled Consensus Madness LP appeared first as LUNGS-249. Endeavors followed as LUNGS-309. The press text calls Endeavors a debut album, which leaves the earlier record’s status open. No release year for LUNGS-249 shows on the current label grid.

Recent entries include Brain Tourniquet’s Sinking Deeper Into Madness, due September 25, 2026 as LUNGS-322. Alien Nosejob’s How A Mosquito Operates carried LUNGS-310. Most recent release

Endeavors was released June 30, 2026. The pressing runs 500 copies on black 140gr vinyl in a 24pt reverse board jacket with an insert. Recording credits go to David Wolf. Scott Plant handled the mix and Mikey Young mastered. Photos came from Thaib Wahab, with art direction by Martin Sorrondeguy.

Who they are

Artrodese is a punk and bass unit. The label press text names vocalist Joop van Reede as the project’s live frontman. It credits his past bands as Jesus Crost and Sick of Stupidity. Both of those bands come from Rotterdam. The Jesus Crost Bandcamp lists the Dutch port city as home. Sick of Stupidity tagged its 2015 album One Shot, One Kill with Rotterdam, fastcore and powerviolence. That album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Tonmeisterei Studio in March 2015. The credits list vinyl on Rødel Records, the CD on Give Praise and a tape on RAPS. Artrodese works from a different recipe. Nine tracks run 33:32 in total. The opener shares its title with the album and lasts 2:13. Waves follows at 3:02, Streets at 3:05 and Corridors at 4:24. Grief runs 2:37, and the track named 1234 runs 2:27. Impact lasts 3:45. The two closers are the longest pieces: Hazy at 6:25 and Eucalyptus at 5:34. Every track title is a single word or a number. The current grid carries titles from No Skin, Wake, Unholy Grave, Suffering Mind and Brody’s Militia. The label’s recent slate has three more entries. In To Hell arrived in September 2025. The Dormant Ruin followed in December 2025. The Better Hand Plant Than Dead compilation came in February 2026. The connection to the vocalist goes back years. Who they are

The Drin are a six-piece from Cincinnati, Ohio. The group began as the solo outlet of Dylan McCartney, now a guitarist and vocalist in the band. The current lineup lists Eric Dietrich, Dylan McCartney, Dakota Carlyle, Ryan Sennett, Luke Cornett and Cole Gilfilen. Their sound moves through post-punk, jangly psychedelia and kosmische grooves, with spoken-word vocals placed against synths and bass-led rhythms. Bandcamp tags on the album page add rock, electronic, experimental and punk. Post-Trash called the band innovators of Midwestern punk in a 2023 premiere. That writeup noted a blend of synth punk, krautrock and icy psych.

The fourth LP is due September 18, 2026 on Feel It Records. The title is a six-word phrase about losing the way for centuries. The preorder page lists 23 track titles across about an hour of music. The sequence opens with The Sky Has Lost the Smile. Track 23 closes the record and asks to be called on in some time. Track 3 is Moths to the Light. Track 8 is Come and See V3. Who they are

Raein are a screamo band from Italy. Wikipedia lists members of La Quiete and the post-rock band Neil on Impression. The listed lineup includes Alessio Valmori on guitar and vocals and Andrea Console on vocals. Giuseppe Coluccelli plays guitar and sings, Michele Camorani plays drums, both since 2002. Nicola Amadori joined on bass in 2009. Marco Montesano held the bass seat from 2002 to 2009. The band broke up in late 2005 and regrouped in September 2007 after a two-year break. Wikipedia credits the group with bringing screamo to Europe after the genre’s United States peak around Orchid and Saetia.

The self-titled debut arrived in 2002 on Life of Hate Records. Il N’y A Pas De Orchestre followed in 2003 on Ape Must Not Kill Ape and React With Protest. Ogni Nuovo Inizio came out in 2008 through Sons of Vesta and Ape Must Not Kill Ape. Sulla linea dell’orizzonte fra questa mia vita e quella di tutti arrived in 2011 as a free self-release. Splits appeared with Phoenix Bodies, Funeral Diner, Daïtro, Loma Prieta and Ampere. The Loma Prieta split came out on Deathwish Inc. in 2013. A 2013 tour covered 20 shows in 22 days across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Puerto Rico. The Ampere split followed on No Idea Records in 2015. That year Raein played Fluff Fest in the Czech Republic for the third time. Perpetuum, listed as an EP, arrived on April 29, 2015. Forme Sommerse ended a ten-year gap on October 24, 2025. The album holds two tracks across 27:22. The band’s statement on the release page describes ten years of change condensed into half an hour of music. The compilation A Collection of Splits and EPs 2004 - 2015 arrived on Persistent Vision Records in August 2024.

Who they are

Beau Navire formed in Oakland, California in 2009. The band’s own Bandcamp bio keeps it short: Soul. Punk. Flowerviolence. Rate Your Music dates the formation to August 2009 and files the group under screamo and emoviolence. The site lists Kris Udekwu on drums, Jon Schmitt on bass, and Trei Campbell on guitar and vocals. Sean Leary joined on guitar in 2010, after an early stint by a guitarist listed only as Jasmine. The Last.fm biography adds membership ties to iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook, Loma Prieta, and Spectres.

Discography

A demo cassette opened the run in 2009. A four-way split 8-inch followed in 2010. Its partners were Carrion Spring, Te Lloraría Un Puto Río, and The Discord of a Forgotten Sketch. Split 7-inches with Adobe Homes and Suffix sat alongside them. Life Moves, a one-sided 12-inch EP, came out on April 12, 2011 through Melotov, Moment of Collapse, and Shove. Its seven songs open with March Of 03 and close with Fitting Pieces.

Hours, the first full-length, arrived in May 2011 on React With Protest, with a European tour that June. Lumens followed on June 9, 2012. Jack Shirley recorded, mixed, and mastered it. Inkblot, Moment of Collapse, and React With Protest released it together. The ten-track album includes Prisms, Communiqué, and Dead End, Start Over. A split 7-inch with Republic of Dreams closed the original run in 2012. Unwinnable’s 2025 reunion column dates the active years as 2009 to 2012 or 2013.

Labels

React With Protest released Hours. Moment of Collapse, a Hamburg label, put out Life Moves and co-released Lumens. Melotov and Shove shared the Life Moves cycle, and Inkblot joined for Lumens. The 2025 reissues landed on Dog Knights Productions in the UK. Persistent Vision Records runs the North American store, and Voice of the Unheard covers Europe for the label.

Most recent release

The Hours 2025 Remaster appeared on July 1, 2025. A Lumens remaster followed on Dog Knights as DK184. The band then regrouped for a short reunion run in the summer of 2025. Dates included 924 Gilman in Berkeley on July 30 and New Friends Fest in Toronto. Brooklyn Vegan had placed the band on the published fest lineup back in March.

The current release is DK195: Splits & EPs 2009-2012. Dog Knights released it on August 14, 2026. The LP gathers 23 tracks running 43:45 in total. The material covers the demo tape, Life Moves, and the splits with Adobe Homes, Suffix, and Republic of Dreams. Jack Shirley remastered all 23 tracks at The Atomic Garden, and Sean Leary supplied new artwork. The first pressing counts 333 copies: 111 on emerald green, black, and white smash vinyl, 222 on clear with splatter. The cassette run is 50 copies and the CD run is 100. The press notes list 140 gram vinyl in reverse-board jackets with a download code.

Who they are

Nekra are a hardcore punk band from London. Bandcamp tags on every release list the city. The press text for the new EP calls the group the international pit sisters. Lineup details are not published on the label pages, so member names stay unlisted here.

Discography

The Demo 2017 cassette came first, out May 25, 2017 as MUS147 on La Vida Es Un Mus. Five songs run about six and a half minutes: Sisters Of The Yam, Art School, Blood, Photoshoot, and Expatriate. Artwork came from Suzi Kemp. Jonah Falco recorded, mixed, and mastered the tape. The cassette is now listed as sold out.

Royal Disruptor followed on December 1, 2020 as MUS221. It carries five tracks: Esquire, Groomer, Trash, Red Room, and Amang. Seb recorded and mixed the session at Public Pool. Jonah Falco mastered it. The 7-inch comes on black vinyl with an insert and costs 6 pounds on Bandcamp.

Labels

La Vida Es Un Mus has released all three records. The label is a one-person mailorder operation run from London. It has shipped records for more than 20 years, according to the label site. Sorry State Records also stocks the EP and flagged it as a pre-order on July 29, 2026.

Most recent release

The new EP is titled “Is It Really Living?” It came out August 28, 2026 as MUS338. Five songs run 8:39 in total. Tracks include Intro/ Bad Bitch Stomp, Venas, Futuro Ideal, and Risk Factor. Venas is sung in Spanish. Risk Factor closes the EP at 2:41, the longest track.

Jonah Falco recorded and mixed the EP at Fuzzbrain Studios. Will Killingsworth mastered it at Dead Air. Synth and electronics come from Brulatour. Artwork is by Marcea Decker, and band photos are by Robin Silas Christian.

Bryony Beynon wrote the press text. It marks a decade of the band and describes new pacing across the songs. The one-time pressing is 300 copies on black vinyl. Sorry State noted the run is limited and not likely to stick around long.

Who they are

Ruckus are a garage punk band from Boston, Massachusetts, with New York connections. The Drunken Sailor press text places the band “Boston via New York”. Under The Gun Records calls the group a New York street rock and roll supergroup. Kam Lindsey writes the vocals and lyrics. He previously played in oi band The Stance. Drummer Alex Palazzo and rhythm guitarist Brian Crozier are former members of The New York Hounds. Bassist Mario DaCosta completes the rhythm section. Lead guitars are split between Nick Norrman of Ingrates and Ethan Stahl of The Prize and Loose Lips. No Echo notes that members played on the God Bless the NY Hounds LP and Vanity’s first LP. DaCosta has also filled in with Loosey.

The band first appeared on a two-song tape. No Echo covered that tape a couple of years before the LP. The ST 12-inch is the debut record. Six songs run 18:39 in total:

ST 12-inch

The ST 12-inch was released on August 14, 2026. The Drunken Sailor shop lists a pressing of 100 white and 200 black copies. Both colours cost 18 pounds. The American pressing is black vinyl at 20 dollars and includes a lyric sheet. The press text frames the record as The Boys arriving in Boston in 1981. It follows the release of Gang Green’s Another Wasted Night. No Echo calls the record street rock and roll with a 1970s Stones vibe and New York Dolls swagger. Johnny Thunders-style leads run through the songs. The review calls the music tough, stripped-down urban rock with melodic flourishes. All six tracks sit under five minutes. Sick Of Love and Night Cruisin’ pass the four minute mark.

Who they are

ostraca are a screamo trio from Richmond, Virginia. Gus Caldwell plays bass and sings. Brian Russo plays guitar. John Crogan plays drums. The three started making music together in high school around 2008, first in a band called Kilgore Trout. The first ostraca show was in 2015. The band has released music for over a decade, according to Everything Is Noise.

Discography

Seven releases are listed on the ostraca Bandcamp page. Early records include deathless, the faces of the moving year split, last, and enemy. Disaster came out in 2023 on Skeletal Lightning. Eventualities followed in 2025 and opened with “Song For A Closed Door”. Thread is the newest release, out June 26, 2026.

The band moved from Skeletal Lightning to Persistent Vision Records after Disaster, per The Auricular. Persistent Vision is a Richmond label. It runs the annual Dark Days, Bright Nights festival. The label has also released records by Prisoner, Pygmy Lush and .gif From God.

Thread has six songs and runs 35:42. The tracklist is:

Some lyrics draw on the writing of Thomas Ligotti and Emil Cioran.

The band recorded Thread in November 2025 with Danny Gibney. Tracking took five days at Soundcheck Infinity in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Gibney engineered, mixed and mastered the record. He also worked on Eventualities and Disaster. Art and layout are by Garrett Smith. Photography and collage are by Nika Mckagen. The band started writing the album after an Asian tour.

The Persistent Vision shop pressed 225 copies on pink with black and white splatter. Another 225 came on black ice with pink and white splatter. A tour exclusive run of 125 opaque gold copies was also pressed. Cassettes came in runs of 105 gold and 20 pink. The jacket is matte with an OBI strip and lyric insert. All variants are sold out at the label shop.

The album is streamable on Bandcamp. The label directs EU and UK buyers to Dog Knights Productions, Force Majeure, Shove Records and VOTU Records. Devil Dog Distro is also listed. Those shops offer cheaper shipping.

Who they are

Empathetic are a screamo band from Vancouver. According to Zegema Beach Records, the band played a few shows, recorded one EP, and went on hiatus. At least one member has since moved to another province. The label calls the EP likely to be the band’s only release.

The EP features a member of Thank You Driver, a Vancouver band. The rest of the lineup is not documented in the label’s materials. The label’s August 10 release announcement describes the band’s short run in screamo tradition. A few shows, one recording, then a hiatus. The label has said it hopes the band members continue in another project. The announcement calls the EP the band’s long-awaited debut.

The Room Collapses Quietly

The EP was released on Friday, August 7, 2026, digitally and on CD. The label describes the sound as mathy, jarring emoviolence, with references to Beau Navire, Brahm, Crowning and Frail Body. The release page lists the record for fans of Beau Navire, Brahm and Monterey. Songs like Culminate, Volatile and Yield move between grind-style screamo passages and quiet interludes. Promo material describes the band as playing technical, sharp, melodic screamo. Most tracks run around two minutes, with the longest at two minutes and twenty seconds. The shortest track is Intro at one minute and one second.
