What this is

Shorter, Faster, Louder is a personal project. One person runs it, and it exists to answer one question: can AI make music discovery fun? Finding new hardcore, punk, skramz and powerviolence releases, keeping track of them, and writing them down, with the machines doing most of the work.

There is no editorial team, no company, no brand behind it, and no agenda beyond the experiment. It is a hobby, and it says so plainly. No fake personas: this blog is written by one real person, and nothing on the site pretends to be someone else.

How AI is used

AI does the heavy lifting. It scrapes Bandcamp and label pages, pulls release facts out of the source pages, drafts the descriptions, checks the prose for repeated patterns, and keeps the release log in order. The experiment is whether that pipeline can produce a site a person actually enjoys reading.

Every fact still has to check out. Claims are traced back to the linked source page before publishing, and the person behind the blog reads everything before it goes live.

What this site covers

The band feature profiles one band per day. The weekly new-releases digest lists what came out or went up for preorder in the past seven days, pulled from a watchlist of labels and from Bandcamp tag scans.

The writing is factual by design. Releases are described in concrete terms: lineup, city, label, format, pressing information when it is published. Genre and sound are stated, not judged. Anything that is not verifiable from the source page is left out.

How releases are selected

The watchlist (data/labels.yml in the site repository) covers roughly forty labels across hardcore and raw punk, skramz and screamo, powerviolence and fastcore, and garage punk. Their Bandcamp pages are scanned daily. Tag pages on Bandcamp add releases from outside the watchlist. The digest runs on Saturdays and only when at least two releases are worth covering; nothing is padded to fill a week.

Editorial method

Every factual claim in a post is traceable to the linked Bandcamp page, label page, or research source. Pressing counts, recording credits and lineup members appear only when the source states them. Posts run through a judge pass before publishing: no opinion words, no first person, no invented details, no repeated prose patterns, all links checked.

• Band of the Day: one band per day, discography and label facts.
• New Releases: weekly digest, two to fifteen releases from the past seven days with dates, formats and links.
