Why Bother? — Beyond Step One

Feel It Records · LP / Digital · 2026-08-07 · garage punk, surf rock, new wave

The Iowa group stays anonymous and does not play live. The label compares the band to reclusive painters, calling Beyond Step One the group's most esoteric work. Eighteen pieces move between garage punk, surf rock and new wave. Black vinyl in a full color jacket with insert, 300 pressed.

Team Work — Somebody's Gotta Do It

    Feel It Records · LP / Digital · 2026-08-07 · punk, post-punk

The two members met through Soundcloud: Lise of Maraudeur in Leipzig and Ronni of Marances in Baton Rouge. The record runs on muscular bass lines, wood block drum patterns and softly delivered vocals, often processed with dub effects. Field recordings appear between the songs, and one track title plays on not spelling out the f-word. First pressing of 300 copies on black vinyl in a matte jacket with insert.

  • Daddy's Boy — Four Hombres cover art

    Daddy's Boy — Four Hombres

    Drunken Sailor Records · LP / Digital · 2026-08-07 · hardcore, punk

Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago, this time with longtime friend Greg Norman engineering. The quartet's second LP follows the 2022 debut, and drummer Neal Markowski says the band wanted to break any habits. Lyrics by JJ Skolnik take the theme of hope as things get demonstrably worse.

  • KLOAKAO — os mais brutais (demo) 12" reissue cover art

KLOAKAO — os mais brutais (demo) 12" reissue

    La Agonía de Vivir · 12-inch / Digital · 2026-08-08 · powerviolence

Downloads are free, and any donations from Bandcamp go to animal liberation projects. The demo 12-inch reissue on La Agonía de Vivir is limited to 300 black copies. Eight powerviolence tracks that together run seventeen minutes.

  • Rat Cage — Not Asking For Much cover art

Rat Cage — Not Asking For Much

La Vida Es Un Mus · LP / Digital · 2026-08-28 (preorder) · hardcore punk, d-beat

The third Rat Cage LP follows fourteen releases since the first demo, all run by Bry Suddaby. The drums hammer under the riffs and the vocals come as a shouted, cynical bark. The influences are 80s Northern European punk and Swedish hardcore. The preorder ships on powder rose vinyl with a poster, with black available on request.

  • The Easy Eight — The Easy Way Out cover art

The Easy Eight — The Easy Way Out

Static Shock Records · LP / Digital · 2026-08-29 (preorder) · punk, melodic punk

Members of The Chisel, Arms Race, Stingray and Last Affront make up the London band, shortened to EZ8. The LP compiles the first two recording sessions. Side A is the session released online last autumn, side B four new songs. The label points to melancholic 80s Ramones with a touch of Misfits on the limited red vinyl pressing.

The first digest covers releases from the past week and the preorders currently up, all from watchlist labels.
