Skramz is the corner of this site that gets the most obsessive attention, because it deserves it. This is a music built on splits, seven-inches and small labels, documented mostly by the people who were in the room. We write beginner guides that actually help (where to start, what the subgenres mean, which records matter), deep dives on the bands that shaped the sound from Pg. 99 to Youth Novel, and reviews of the new wave that keeps arriving through labels like Zegema Beach and The Ghost Is Clear. The history is short but dense, the current scene is genuinely global, and the records are cheap. That combination makes skramz the most rewarding rabbit hole in punk, and this category is the map.
